Sotto Voce
The Sotto Voce (SJSC outreach choir) will have a rehearsal on Monday, March 23rd, starting at 7:00 P.M. at the Westminster Presbyterian Church. We will rehearse the following numbers in preparation for the performance at St. Timothy Lutherin Church, on Camden Avenue, in San Jose (off highway 85). This concert will have a call time of 1:00 P.M. and will last about 40 minutes:
- Ride the Chariot
- Sicut Cervus
- Sing Me to Heaven
- Keep Your Lamps
- Wondrous Love
- Down By the Riverside (copies will be given out at this rehearsal)
- Ave Verum
- Little Innocent Lamb (copies will be given out at this rehearsal)
- Tomorrow Shall be my Dancing Day
- Sanctus from Gospal
- Mass Bogoroditse Dievo
- Mollicone’s, Hear Me Redeemer
- Old Irish Blessing (Copies will be given out etc.
This is much more music than we will use, but while we have this extra time to rehearse, I think we could use it to prepare for any other concerts later in the Spring. Don D’Angelo
Pencils
Sonja will once again be bringing SJSC imprinted pencils to choir. They are 50¢ each & will be on one of the back tables. You’re on your honor to put the money in the jar provided. The plan is to have them available the first rehearsal of each month, so they will be there this Monday. Will the person who “borrowed” a pencil last month & returned one from Union Bank in Fresno, please put 50¢ in the pot. Thank you, Sonja
Behold the Seat
Do you need to sit while we take our “Flight through the Stars?” If so, please send an email to Lonna Smith and a seat in the first class cabin will be reserved for you!
Sunshine Alert
If you know a choir member who needs some extra support due to personal or family hardship, please contact Anne-Marie Wiggers or Sister Jackie . Give us some information, so we can send a card, make a phone call or a visit. This “service” is important to let our choir members know we care.
Black folders
Members can purchase the black folder from Frank Palermo, before rehearsal, or at the break. Cost of the black folder is $20, replacement cord $3, 3-ring adapter $1. Cash or check made out to SJSC. Questions see Frank at rehearsal, call 270-4720, or email frank7ann@aol.com Announcements should be sent to Debbie office-manager@sanjosesymphonicchoir.org by Friday to be included in the Monday announcements postings. Announcements will be posted on the website each Monday, but you can sign up for the yahoo choir group and receive an email of the weekly announcements as well as other correspondences.
Apres Rehearsal
Join fellow choir members for eats, drinks and fun following rehearsal each Monday at Jake’s of Willow Glen (Lincoln Ave. in Willow Glen). Dates to remember Please note changes and additions in bold print. In addition to the dates below, Rehearsal at 7pm each Monday unless otherwise announced. Board of Directors meets the second Wed. of each month, 7:30pm Westminster Presbyterian Church. Choir members may attend these meetings.
