Beginning its 85th season, San Jose Symphonic Choir is one the country’s most successful volunteer choral societies. The 110-voice Choir, led by Maestro Leroy Kromm who has held the baton for 25 years, presents major works for chorus and orchestra in the fall, winter, and spring of each year.
The Choir is well known as the sponsor of San Jose’s Christmas time “You-Sing-It Messiah”, which for twenty-seven years has brought large audiences/participants to the Center for the Performing Arts.
On July 1, 2009, San Jose Symphonic Tour Choir will perform in Washington, DC. Members of SJSC joined with Nancy Kromm and the Stone Church Choir for a tour of Ireland and Scotland. The Choir has toured Scandinavia and St. Petersberg, California Missions, and in the summer of 2003, the Choir performed throughout Italy, from Venice to Rome, on an Italian Cathedral Concert Tour.
